Ultra-wide Power Zoom Lens

Offering an ultra-wide to standard wide zoom range, the Sony FE PZ 16-35mm f/4 G features superb optics and a power zoom function in a compact and markedly lightweight design. A constant moderately bright f/4 maximum aperture provides a balance between being bright enough for all day shooting with a portable form. Optically, this lens employs two advanced aspherical (AA) elements, one aspherical element, Super ED and ED elements, and a ED aspherical element to mimimise a variety of aberrations and distortion for improved sharpness, clarity and colour accuracy throughout the zoom range. A rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasant bokek quality.

Especially beneficial for video applications, this lens features Power Zoom, which enables smooth zooms during takes, suppressed focus breathing, versatile focus handling, and a well-balanced design that performs well when mounted on a gimbal or drone or used handheld. Of note, the Power Zoom can extend its effective reach by up tp 2x when used in conjunction with Sony camera's Clear Image Zoom function. This Power Zoom mechanism utilises four XD linear motors for accurate, fast, and quiet zooming movement. When needed during recording, the aperture ring can be de-clicked. The lens's Smooth Motion Optics (SMO) suppresses focus breathing to help maintain compositional accuracy when changing focus.

The fast, quiet and accurate autofocusing and tracking performance of the lens is provided by an XD Linear Motor System which uses two separate motors. Linear Response manual focus is available and easily switched to using the AF/MF switched located on the lens barrel. An internal zoom and internal focus design enables the lens to maintain its overall length during operation for smoother and more responsive focusing. You can shoot subjects up-close thanks to a 24cm minimum focusing.distance.

Complementing the portable form factor, the lens is weather-sealed for working in inclement conditions and features a fluorine coating on the front element to resist dust, oils, and fingerprints during use. It also features an intuitive design for easy operation, which includes separate aperture, focus and zoom rings for responsive and tactile settings adjustments.

This lens comes supplied with front and rear lens caps, a lens hood, and a lens case.
