Wide-angle to Short Telephoto Zoom

The Samyang AF 24-70mm f/2.8 for Sony E-mount is an autofocus zoom with a wide-angle to short telephoto field of view that suits a variety of applications from landscapes and portraits through to everyday snap shots. A moderately bright f/2.8 maximum aperture provides of depth of field control and working in dimmer conditions. The bright aperture is complemented by a 9-blade circular aperture to provide a natural looking bokeh and beautiful starburst effect. A minimum focus distance of 35.1cm affords getting up close to subjects for intimate, dramatic shots.

Optically, the lens features a 17-elements-in-14-groups design that consist of two aspherical, 1 hybrid aspherical, three high resolution, and three extra-low dispersion glass elements to achieve sharp and clear images. Weather-sealing at seven spots means the lens is protected from light dust, rain, and snow for use in inclement conditions. A linear stepping motor complements with a quiet, precise, and stable autofocus performance that benefits both stills and video recording. The lens features Parfocal, which helps to maintain the focus on subject when zooming in or out - a feature typical of cine zoom lenses. Additionally, a Linear MF Focus Control provides convenience to video shooters by realising the torque of the focus ring as closely to that of a manual video lens when recording video in manual mode. To enable easy selection of functions including the Aperture Control Mode and MF Mode, a Custom Switch is incorporated on the lens barrel.
