Designed for full-frame L-Mount mirrorless cameras, the Panasonic Lumix S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Macro O.I.S. lens is a telephoto zoom, which has the capabililities to capture dynamic macro photos as well as sharp videos. A 0.5x macro-capability at 300mm provides for higher resolution macro images. By increasing the zoom position detection performance by three times, half-macro and conventional tracking accuracy are combined. In addition, the telephoto operation offers accurate zoom tracking control up to eight times faster than other lenses due to wobbling control at 240 Hz. Featuring an advanced 5.5 stop dual-axis Dual I.S.2 image stabilisation to both correct shake in telephoto shooting and enable shooting at slower shutter speeds, this lens is well suited for sports, action, and wildlife photographic and video applications. Optically, a combination of one UED (ultra-extra-low dispersion), two ED (extra-low dispersion), aspherical elements, one ultra-high refractive index elements help to control various aberrations throughout the zoom range to achieve imagery sharpness, clarity, and colour accuracy. Suppressed focus breathing benefits both still shooting and video recording.

The optical performance is complemented by fast and precise autofocus performance that is delivered by a focus drive. The incorporation of a AF/MF switch permits easy and quick changing between autofocus and manual focus modes. This Lumis S zoom sports a 9-blade diaphragm which contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality. With a weather-resistant design that renders it splash-, dust-, and freeze-proof, this lens will tough it out with you in inclement weather conditions. Additionally, the front element is applied with flourine coating to prevent dirt and oils from sticking to it.
