The Nikon Nikkor Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S is an ultra-wide zoom with an advanced optical design. While designed for FX-format Z-mount mirrorless cameras, it can also be used with DX models where an equivalent focal length range of 21-36mm is provided. Its bright f/2.8 constant maximum aperture suits working in dimmer conditions, shooting handheld, and improves depth of field control. Optically, a combination of four extra-low dispersion elements and three aspherical elements help to control a various aberrations and distortions throughout the zoom range for sharp, clear imagery with improved colour rendering. In addition, ARNEO and Nano Crystal Coats, as well as a Super Integrated Coating, have been applied to help suppress flare, ghosting, and surface reflections, thus improving contrast and colour fidelity.

Suiting both stills and video needs, the zoom features an impressively fast, accurate, and silent autofocus performance that is enabled by a stepping motor, which also permits full-time manual focus override. An internal focusing design is employed to maintain the overall length of the lens while promoting faster focusing speeds. A unique design of this zoom lens is the top OLED information panel for immediate check and confirmation of aperture and focus settings. If adjustments are required, an assignable L-Fn button works in conjunction with camera-based Fn buttons to allow making exposure and settings changes from the lens. Additionally, the Programmable Control Ring, which is, by default, set for manual focus adjustment, can also be utilised to control aperture or exposure compensation

This zoom lens comes with two lens hoods to cater to your different needs: the sleeker HB-96 maintains a more compact overall size while the HB-97 hood permits 112mm threaded filters to be attached. Otherwise, filter-wise, the rear of the lens features a slot for inserting cut gels and other filter sheets. The lens barrel is dust- and moisture resistant in the event you find yourself working in inclement conditions.

Beside the two hoods, a lens case, two front lens caps and a rear cap are also supplied with the lens.
