The Canon RF 70-200mm f/4 IS USM is a versatile telephoto zoom lens designed for use with full-frame Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras. Its flexible focal length range of 70-200mm is complemented by an impressively sleek and lightweight form factor. With a minimum focusing distance of only 0.6m, relatively close up shooting can be achieved with this zoom lens. A constant maximum aperture of f/4 contributes to the relative lightweight and compact design that renders it possible for handheld shooting while affording consistent performance throughout its zoom range. An Optical Image Stabiliser compensates for up to 5 stops of camera shake, or up to an impressive 7.5 stops when paired with an EOS R-type body with In-Body Image Stabiliser. Optically the lens design utilises four UD (Ultra-Low Dispersion) elements to minimise chromatic aberrations and colour fringing to improve clarity and colour accuracy. Additionally. an Air Sphere Coating (ASC) has been applied to the lens elements to reduce backlit flaring and ghosting in harsher lighting condition.

This flexible zoom lens employs a Dual Nano USM focus system, which consists of both a ring type USM and an STM mechanism, for fast, accurate, and quiet focusing performance that benefits both stills and video applications. Full-time manual focus control is also available when shooting in one-shot AF mode. For flexibility, a configurable control ring can be used for adjusting a variety exposure settings. This lens features a weather-resistant design as well as protective fluorine coating on the front and rear elements to reduce fingerprints and smudges.
