Nokton 35mm f/1.2 Aspherical SE Lens: Sony E
"Stills Edition" Wide-angle Prime Lens for Sony E-mount
The Nokton 40mm f/1.2 ASPH SE from Voigtlander is a super fast wide-angle manual focus prime lens for full frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Besides contributing to the lens' suitability for use in low-light conditions, its notably bright and large f/1.2 aperture can be opened wide to enable this Stills Edition or SE lens to achieve impressive out-of-focus bokeh for photographic expression in still photography. Furthermore, a 12-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth bokeh.
Optically, the lens uses a pair of aspherical elements to reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations for enhanced sharpness, clarity, and colour. Its robust full-metal barrel features stylishly designed helicoid ring that utilises a simple and precise-looking flat knurling process. Grooves that are cut orthgonally against the flat knurling enhances maneuverability and improved grip during use. In addition, the Nokton lens features a compact size that is ideal for stills photography during travelling or street photography, thanks to the removal of the click-stop switching mechanism. The aperture features traditional 1/3-stop clicks. Whilst the focus and aperture designs are manual, the lens features electrical contacts to permit the lens settings at image capture to be included in the Exif information of the image data. A distance encoder is installed on the lens to support camera bodies that has 5-axis image stabilisation.
A front and rear lens cap, as well as a lenshood, are supplied with the lens.
