Designed for use with L-mount mirrorless cameras, the Lumix S PRO 50mm f/1.4 from Panasonic is a normal-length prime with a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, ideal for working in low-light conditions and with shallow depth of field techniques. It can also be used with APS-C models where it will provide a 75mm equivalent focal length.
Optically the lens uses two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements to reduce both spherical and chromatic aberrations to capture sharp images with accurate colour. A rounded 11-blade diaphragm produces smooth out of focus areas.
A double focus system uses both a linear motor and a stepping motor for fast, quiet, and accurate autofocusing, and a manual focus clutch allows you to simply push or pull the focusing range to quickly switch between AF and MF focusing modes. The lens is finished with a weather-sealed splash, dust, and freezeproof design for working in difficult conditions down to -24°C.
