The pairing of the refined sensor and image processor enables the birth the new generation Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, which features 1053 selectable focusing points that cover about 100% of the image for wide and even coverage. Offering smooth and fast focusing when working with still imagery, critical focus can be attained even when shooting and tracking of moving subjects. A Movie Servo AF mode offers similar apt capability for shooting videos, where focus is smooth and natural when transiting between subjects or distances within the scene. The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system's ability to recognise subjects and maintain focus when working within cluttered or changing scenery heightens the EOS R5's subject tracking in movie. Moreover, through the use of Deep Learning Technology, the intelligent focusing system gradually refines its ability to quickly and accurately recognise both people and animal subjects. This technology also supports eye, face, and head detection functions for both people and animals to suit portraiture photography. Ability to for users to specify tracking sensitivity, AF speed, and Face Tracking priority, as well as intuitive rack focus adjustments via the Touch AF system, contribute to user control and efficiency during recording. Another first for this EOS model, the EOS R6 incorporates a five-axis sensor shift image stabilisation that impressively compensates up to eight stops of camera shake to effectively support handheld shooting with shutter speeds. This stabilisation system collaborates with the lens based optical image stabilisation for both native RF-mount lenses and adapted EF-mount lenses via an optional EF-EOS R Mount Adapter.
Beyond the performance attributes, this camera design features a high-resolution 3.69m-dot 0.5" OLED electronic viewfinder for clear and bright eye-level viewing that is coupled by a fast 120 fps refresh rate to offer a more realistic viewfinder experience. A rear 3.0" 1.62m-dot LCD touchscreen is also featured, and has a vari-angle design that benefits working with front facing recording, such as when vlogging, as well as from high and low angles. Four control dials and a joystick provide for intuitive tactile control amd fast and intuitive focus point selection and menu navigation. The durable weather-sealed body is built for working in the toughest environments. Built-in 2.4GHZ Wi-Fi bands, along with Bluetooth, offer fast file transferring and remote camera control via the Canon Camera Connect App, which also supports geotagging your files by using the connected mobile device's location data. Integrated dual memory card slots pave the way for flexible storage on SD UHS-II memory cards with faster read and write speeds to better support the high resolution recording and fast continuous shooting. The battery, charger, and camera cover are supplied with the EOS R6.
Designed for use with the full-frame Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras, the accompanying Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM offers a wide-angle to portrait focal length range suitable for photography applications from landscape to portrait shooting. Its constant bright f/2.8 maximum aperture makes it possible to work in a variety of available lighting and affords a greater control over depth of field for working with selective focus techniques. Optically, the lens design incorporates three UD (Ultra-Low Dispersion) elements and three aspherical elements to correct various abberations for clearer, sharper and more accurate imagery. To reduce backlit flaring and ghosting in harsher lighting conditions, an Air-Sphere Coating (ASC) has been applied to the lens elements.
This versatile 24-70mm lens is driven by a Nano USM (Ultrasonic Motor) focus system which combines both a ring type USM and the STM (Stepper Motor) mechanism to achieve fast, smooth, and almost silent autofocusing capabilities that benefits both still and video shooting; If required, full-time manual override for refined focusing is available when working in the the one-shot AF mode. An integrated Control Ring provides intuitive control over exposure settings, including aperture, ISO, and exposure compensation, from the lens itself. An Optical Image Stabiliser, which helps to minimise the appearance of camera shake by five stops, is built into the lens design for sharper handheld shooting, especially in challenging lighting conditions. In addition to the weather-sealing that renders the lens dust- and moisture-resistant, the front and rear elements of the lens received a fluorine coating to resist fingerprints and smudges as well as to significantly ease the cleaning of the lens. The lens features a rounded nine-blade diaphragm that contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.
