Pairing the ultra telephoto zoom with a teleconverter to further extend its reach, the Canon EF-mount 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sport Lens and TC-1401 1.4x Teleconverter Kit from Sigma offers a versatile telephoto zoom range that is ideal for sports, wildlife, and nature photographers. While the lens is designed for full-frame Canon EF-mount cameras, it can also be used with APS-C models to provide a 240-960mm equivalent focal length range.

Offering excellent optical performance, the 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports lens employs two FLD (F Low Dispersion) elements and three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) elements within its optical design to produce well-corrected imagery with reduced chromatic aberrations and colour fringing. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has also been applied to suppress lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions. Complementing the optical aspects, the lens is also characterized by an apt Optical Stabiliser system that helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. An integrated HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), along with a rear focus system, also provides quick, quiet focusing performance, which is further enhanced and complemented by an optimised AF algorithim to produce an even smoother focusing performance.

The tough lens body is constructed using a TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) material that permits greater precision and usage in wide temperature variations while the bayonet is constructed of brass to provide improved mounting accuracy rigidity. To further benefit working in harsh climates, the lens features dust- and splash-proof construction. An added water- and oil-repellent coating on the front and rear elements offers easier cleaning. The lens barrel features a main switch for locking the zoom at any focal length to prevent accidental and undesired zoom adjustment and another switch for a manual focus override for when more precise focusing control is desired. Full-time manual focus control is also available via rotation of the focus ring at any time. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 260cm and comes with a fixed rotatable tripod collar to provide well-balanced support whilst used atop a tripod or monopod. The lens is compatible with the optional Sigma USB Dock for updating its firmware and fine-tuning different lens characteristics. 

Included with the lens is the TC-1401 1.4x Teleconverter, which extends the effective focal length of the 150-600mm lens to 210-840mm with a one stop loss of light. The teleconverter's design maintains communication between the camera and lens, including both autofocus and auto-exposure controls, and one Special Low Dispersion element is featured in the optical design to maintain the lens' quality.
