AF-S 120-300mm f/2.8E FL ED SR VR Lens
Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon F-mount
The Nikon AF-S 120-300mm f/2.8E FL ED SR VR Lens is a F-mount telephoto zoom lens designed for use with FX image sensors. When used with DX sensors, the lens offers a 180-450mm equivalent focus length range. Its bright constant f/2.8 maximum aperture provides for consistent illumination throughout the zoom range that benefits especially when working in dimmer conditions, and also affords greater control over depth of field.
Characterised by an advanced optical design which includes one extra-low dispersion (ED) element, two flourite elements, and one short-wavelength refractive (SR) element, the lens achieves markedly clear and colour-accurate images thanks to the elimination of chromatic aberrations and colour fringing throughout the zoom range. Additionally, application of ARNEO coating, Nano Crystal coating, and a Super Integrated Coating on the lens elements suppresses flare, ghosting, and surface reflections for imagery of improved contrast and colour fidelity.
The Vibration Reduction Image Stabilisation complements the optics by reducing the appearance of camera shake, benefitting the lens' use in low-light and handheld shooting. When working in fast-paced conditions, the designated Sport Mode is ideal; the Tripod, on the other hand, aids in suppressing minute ground vibrations when working on a support system. This zoom lens employs a silent wave motor for fast, silent and accurate autofocusing, with full-time manual focus override available for increased focus control whenever required. For even faster focusing, you can use the focus range limiter which constricts the focusing between 50cm to infinity. The dust- and moisture-resistant lens barrel and the front fluorine coating provides for operation in inclement weather, while the tripod collar affords well-balanced support when operating from a monopod or tripod. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh.
