Milvus 15mm f/2.8 ZE for Canon EOS
Wide-angle Prime Lens
The Milvus 15mm f/2.8 ZE from Zeiss is a wide-angle prime lens for full-frame format Canon EF-mount DSLRs, and can also be used with APS-C models where it will provide a 24mm equivalent focal length. This wide-angle perspective is paired with a minimum focusing distance of 25 cm for exaggerating foreground subjects and creating a broad sense of space. Featuring a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture, it is well-suited to working in low-light conditions and with shallow depth of field techniques.
The Distagon design incorporates five anomalous partial dispersion elements to control chromatic aberrations and distortions, for sharp and clear imagery. Additionally, two aspherical elements are used to minimise spherical aberrations and a floating elements system ensures consistent performance throughout the focusing and aperture ranges. An enhanced Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating has also been applied to significantly reduce ghosting and lens flare for improved contrast and true colour.
Featuring a manual focus design, a rubberised focus ring provides fine-tuned control over focus placement. This is benefited by laser-engraved focusing and depth of field scales, along with an IR position dot and hard stops at both infinity and minimum focusing positions. Also included is a manual aperture ring that can be manually de-clicked for silent, stepless operation to benefit video applications. This is complimented by a durable frosted, anodised metal lens barrel with a weather-sealed construction to protect against dust and moisture.
