The Zeiss Distagon T* 25mm f/2.8 ZF.2 for Nikon is an optically superb and very fast wide-angle manual focus lens designed for FX-format Nikon F mount DSLRs, and can also be used with DX models where it will provide a 35mm equivalent focal length of 38mm. The fast f/2.8 maximum aperture benefits working in varying lighting conditions and also offers increased control over depth of field.

It is ideally suited to nature and landscapes, though a close focusing distance of just 17 cm makes it extremely versatile, providing a wider perspective than the usual macro focal lengths.

Like all Zeiss lenses it offers superb colour and edge to edge sharpness, and a Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating has also been applied to significantly reduce ghosting and lens flare.

The new ZF.2 lenses are an enhanced version of ZF lenses. They feature an electronic interface (CPU) that enables support of all important camera operating modes such as shutter priority, aperture priority and programmed auto exposure or manual exposure settings. Photographers no longer have to set the parameters in the camera menu as the lens now transmits standard data such as focal length, speed and the aperture setting to the camera. This data can then be viewed in the EXIF data of each picture.
