The SP 85mm f/1.8 Di VC USD Lens from Tamron is a short-telephoto prime with an ideal focal length for portraiture, designed for full-frame Nikon F-mount DSLRs. It features one Low Dispersion element and one Extra Low Dispersion element to reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing, and BBAR and eBAND coatings have been applied to minimize flare and ghosting.
A rounded nine-blade diaphragm produces smooth out of focus areas. Vibration Compensation image stabilization minimizes the appearance of camera shake by up to 3.5 stops for sharper handheld shooting, and a robust ring-type USD autofocus motor with an optimized USD actuator offers quick and accurate focusing. Full-time manual focus control is also available for precise focusing.
This is complimented by moisture-resistant construction, with a fluorine coated front element offering further protection against moisture and smudging. This lens is also compatible with the optional TAP-in Console for fine-tuning focusing performance and updating the lens' firmware.
