The Canon EF-mount SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD is created to showcase Tamron's lensmaking capabilities on their 40th anniversary of the SP lens series. This wide-angle prime is designed for full-frame Canon EF-mount cameras, but it can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a 56mm equivalent focal length. With an impressively bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, this flexible prime offers increased control over depth of field and is well-suited for a range of shooting applications, even in dimmer lighting conditions.

Optically, the 14-elements-in-10-groups optical design includes a combination of four low dispersion elements and three glass-molded aspherical elements to control a variety of abberrations for achieving higher sharpness and clarity, as well as colour fidelity and accurate rendering. In addition, an application of second generation BBAR-G2 coating on individual elements reduces ghosting and flare for improved contrast and colour accuracy when working in harsh backlit conditions.

The wide-angle prime features an Ultrasonic Silent Drive autofocus motor and a Dynamic Rolling-cam that delivers fast and accurate focusing performance of the large f/1.4 optical system. Full-time manual focus is available for refined focusing and a 30cm minimum focus distance permits you to focus and shoot a subject up close. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality. For working in inclement weather, the lens features a moisture-resistant construction as well as a front flourine coating that guards against dust, dirt, and smearing.
