MF 14mm f/2.8 WS Mk2 Lens (Canon EF)
Ultra-wide Prime for Canon EF-Mount Cameras
The Samyang MF 14mm f/2.8 WS Mk2 Lens is an ultra-wide prime designed for full-frame Canon EF-mount cameras. On APS-C models, this lens provides a 22.4 mm equivalent focal length. Combining both advanced optics and sophisticated handling, this lens is well-suited for specialised applications including astrophotography, architecture, and landscape shooting applications. Optically, this 14-elements-10-groups lens employs a series of aspherical, hybrid aspherical, extra low dispersion, and hight refractive index elements to minimise spherical and chromatic aberrations as well as colour fringing. This enables the imagery to be sharper, clearer, and more accurate in its colour rendering. Furthermore, an Ultra Multi-Coating is applied to individual elements to reduce flaring and ghosting for increased contrast and colour neutrality that benefits when working on harsher lighting conditions.
A manual focus design which allows capturing subjects upclose at 28cm away is complemented by an internal focusing design that maintains the lens' overall length during operation. A focus ring is featured to permit the focusing position to be secured, thus preventing unwanted changes. The aperture ring can be de-clicked for more silent operation beneficial for video applications. Weather-sealing on the metal housing allows operation in inclement conditions while the built-in petal-shaped lens hood block out stray light from the front element as well as offer some protection against light impacts.
