The AF-S 600mm f/4E FL ED VR lens from Nikon is an advanced long-reaching telephoto optimised for sports, wildlife and nature shooting, with an advanced optical design for superb image quality and a lessened overall lens weight. Designed for use with FX format image sensors, this lens is also compatible with DX sensors where it will provide a truly impressive 900mm equivalent focal length.

Two fluorite and four extra-low dispersion elements reduce chromatic aberrations throughout the aperture range while Nano Crystal and Super Integrated Coatings help to suppress flare and ghosting for greater contrast and clarity. A front fluorine-coated meniscus glass element and weather-resistant magnesium alloy barrel round out this list of attributes by ensuring peace of mind when working in difficult weather.

When working in fast-paced environments or in low light, Vibration Reduction image stabilisation compensates for the appearance of camera shake by up to four stops. A designated Sport Mode further benefits working in fast-paced conditions and a Tripod Mode helps to reduce subtle ground vibrations when working with a support system.

A Silent Wave Motor AF system ensures fast, near-silent focusing performance that benefits both stills shooting and movie recording and can instantly be manually overridden by simply turning the manual focus ring. The internal focusing design maintains the overall lens length during operation and contributes to a lighter overall weight, as well as a minimum focusing distance of 4.39 m. An electromagnetic aperture mechanism is also integrated into the lens design to provide greater exposure control stability that is particularly useful when working with faster continuous shooting rates.

A removable monopod collar is included with the lens for well-balanced support when working from a monopod or tripod. The collar ring also incorporates ball bearings for smooth transitions between horizontal and vertical shooting orientations. Also included are front and rear lens caps, the HK-40 Lens Hood, Slip-In Filter Holder, NC 40.5mm Neutral Colour Filter, LN-2 Lens Strap and CT-608 Lens Case.
