A standard length prime lens, the AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G from Nikon is an excellent walkaround lens for everyday shooting with an FX or 35mm Nikon camera. It is also compatible with DX-format Nikon DSLRs where it will provide a 35mm equivalent focal length of 75mm. Its fast maximum aperture of f/1.4 is well-suited to low-light shooting, and provides shallow depth of field control, with a rounded nine-blade diaphragm to produce images with natural background blur.
Nikon's Super Integrated Coating (SIC) enhances light transmission and offers superior colour consistency and reduced flare, while an aspherical lens element controls coma and other types of aberrations. This is complimented by a Silent Wave Motor for smooth, silent and precise autofocus operation, and a M/A mode lets you quickly and easily override the autofocus system for fine-tuned manual focus control.
The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G Lens is supplied with front and rear lens caps, a HB-47 bayonet lens hood and soft lens case.
