With a dramatic wide angle perspective and bright f/1.8 maximum aperture, the AF-S NIKKOR 28mm f/1.8G lens from Nikon lets you capture sweeping vistas or nuanced close-ups with beautiful background blur. Compatible with both full-frame FX and APS-C DX-format Nikon cameras, it provides a 42mm equivalent focal length when used with a DX-format DSLR.
The optical design includes two aspherical elements to reduce aberrations, while Nano Crystal Coating and Super Integrated Coating (SIC) reduce ghosting and flare, for enhanced light transmission and colour consistency. A Silent Wave Motor (SWM) ensures autofocus is quiet, fast, and accurate. The rear element moves during AF operation for fast, smooth performance which also eliminates front barrel rotation and lens extension when focusing. Full-time manual focus override is also available for precise manual focusing even when working in autofocus mode. The lens will focus to an impressively close 25cm and its 7 rounded diaphragm produces attractive out of focus areas. This is a "G" series lens, which means that there is no physical aperture ring and the aperture must be controlled by the camera.
