Canon's 200mm telephoto prime now comes with an aperture of f/2.0 rather than the previous f/1.8, still providing outstanding shooting speed in low light conditions. This also allows greater control over depth of field and delicate bokeh balance.
As with all L-series lenses, this one is constructed of higher quality materials offering more robust and precise operation and better protection from the elements. These materials include Fluorite and UD elements to reduce chromatic abberations.
The advanced Image Stabiliser technology facilitates slower shutter speed settings - up to five stops slower - with minimal image blur. It also compensates for pan, tilt and tracking shots by disabling one axis of stablilisation when it detects movement of the lens.
