D780 + AF-S 24-120mm f/4G ED VR
Full Frame DSLR Camera & Wide-angle to Telephoto Zoom Lens Kit
Kitted together here are the Nikon D780 and the AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR lens.
The Nikon D780 full frame DSLR camera body combines the traditional form and function with contemporary imaging method to deliver a versatile camera apt in both still and video applications.
The pairing of a 24.5MP full-frame CMOS sensor with a BSI (back-illuminated) design and a EXPEED 6 image processor provides for apt resolution, fast readout speeds, heightened clarity, and reduced noise levels to suit working in a variety of lighting. The versatile sensor enables a wide senstivity range of ISO 100-51200, which can be further extended to ISO 50-204800, a fast 7 fps shooting rate with the viewfinder that is ideal for working with moving subjects, and up to 12 fps shooting in raw or JPEG when working in Silent Live View mode. Furthermore, the sensor affords UHD 4k video recording up to 30 fps using either the full-frame area or cropped areas. With Full HD recording possible at up to 120 fps, slow motion playback is possible. Video capabilities are enhanced further by the integrated N-Log gamma and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) that contribute to post-production and producing HDR content. In addition, the D780 can output high-quality 10-bit data over HDMI while an Electronic VR (vibration reduction) function promotes smoother handheld shooting.
For quick focusing that compliments the imaging, a 51-point phase detection AF (autofocus) system is available when working with the viewfinder; it includes 15 cross-type points for improved accuracy in dimmer conditions. During operation in live view or when recording video, a 273-point Hybrid AF system is employed to blend on-sensor phase-detection points and a contrast-detection system for fast performance and impressive subjuct tracking that includes support for Eye-Detection AF.
As a familar form of DSLR, the D780 features a bright 0.7x magnification pentaprism optical viewfinder that covers 100% of the frame and a large 3.2" 2.36m-dot rear LCD tilting screen. The touchscreen provides for intuitive playback and menu navigation, as well as touch AF and touch shutter functions. Save files using the dual SD memory card slots, which support the UHS-II standard for faster read/write speeds and more flexible file storage. Or, wirelessly transfer files to connected mobile devices or remotely control the camera via Nikon Snap app by using the built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
A rechargeable lithium-ion battery, its compatible charger, a USB cable, a strap, a body cap, and an eyepiece cap completes the D780 ensemble.
The lens design includes two Extra-low Dispersion elements and three aspherical elements, as well as Nikon's Super Integrated Coating, to reduce chromatic aberrations and enhance light transmission for crisp, clear images with accurate colour. Additional Nano Crystal Coat reduces ghosting and flare, and a rounded 9 blade diaphragm produces attractive out-of-focus areas.
The lens uses a Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for fast, quiet and precise autofocus, and a M/A focus mode switch allows for a quick change to manual mode when precise focus control is need. This is benefitted by an internal focus design that maintains the working distance throughout the focus range. It also keeps the front element from spinning, which maintains the position of a polariser or lens hood.
Lastly, VR II image stabilisation reduces the effects of camera shake, for sharper handheld imaging. This is particularly useful when working in low light situations or when shooting at the telephoto end of the focal range.
