Circular Polarizer Filter
This 82mm EXUS Circular Polarizer Filter from Marumi is primarily designed to eliminate polarized light, producing increased colour saturation. This is particularly noticeable when photographing outdoor scenes, where a CPL filter will work to combat atmospheric fog to deepen the blue of the sky, highlight white clouds, and eliminate reflected light bringing detail back in to reflective surfaces such as water or glass. It will not affect picture colour, and is slim enough to avoid vignetting when used with most wide angle lenses. All filters will also offer a degree of protection for the front element of your lens against moisture, dust and scratching.
A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it supports full use of a camera's autofocus and auto exposure functions. This filter features an anti-static coating that also provides water and oil-resistance to protect the filter from dust, dirt, and moisture and to also aid in cleaning. The thin filter ring design is suited for use with wide-angle lenses and features multiple light-blocking ridges, a satin finish, and a black ink coating to provide a surface reflectivity of less than 0.6% to reduce the likelihood of lens flare and ghosting. Additionally, the male threads of the filter ring are coated with Teflon to help eliminate filter jamming for easier installation and removal from your lenses.
