Voigtlander
Bessa R3A
35mm Film Camera
The Bessa R3A from Voigtlander is a small and lightweight 35mm rangefinder camera. With a shorter distance between the film and the lens mount than a standard SLR, it is capable of capturing impressively sharp images. An update to the original Bessa R camera, all of the original Bessa R's features are still available, including a bright viewfinder with split image rangefinder patch & brightlines for 40/90, 50, 75mm lenses, quiet shutter & simple LED metering system. The R3A also offers a number of improvements, including AE (Auto-Exposure) Aperture Priority mode, with plus/minus 2 stops compensation on AE and it is the first M mount camera to feature a 1:1 lifesize viewfinder.
Light metering is centerweighted TTL, with a clear LED exposure scale that shows red for under/overexposure and green for correct exposure. It uses a vertical-travel electronic metal focal plane shutter and features a rubberised and anodised body finish. Its bayonet Leica M-type lens mount accepts all 39mm screw mount lenses (with an adapter) from Canon, Leica & Voigtlander, as well as M bayonet-type lenses from Leica, Minolta & Konica. Add the Voigtlander Trigger Winder (originally introduced with the Bessa T) for speedy, battery-free film advance - available separately.
