Hasselblad
Xpan + 45mm f/4 + 90mm f/4 + hood + centre filter + bag
Rangefinder Film Kit
The Xpan was introduced by Hasselblad at Photokina, Germany in 1998. The body is made from titanium and aluminium, covered in a rubberdised material. What really sets the Xpan apart is it's ability to shoot panoramic images - 35mm images can be captured in both formats, 24x36mm and 24x65mm (panoramic). The 45mm is a 45mm in the regular 24x36mm mode but is equivalent to a 24mm lens in the panoramic 24x65mm mode. Aperture priority and manual modes are both available to shoot in. The Xpan has a focal plane shutter with speeds of 8 sec to 1/1000 sec. The camera back consists of a LCD screen displaying camera settings - ISO, battery level check and self timer.
The 90mm f/4 offers an angle of view comparable to a 50mm lens in 35mm camera terms when the camera is set at panorama format. This makes it an excellent choice for environmental portraiture. Featuring an f-stop range of f/4 to f/22, it uses 9 elements in 7 groups and offers a focusing range of 1 metre to infinity. It produces images with rich colour tonality and smooth out of focus areas with classic bokeh.
