D5600 (Body Only)
Versatile DX-format DSLR
The black Nikon D5600 DSLR is a compact and versatile camera featuring a DX-format 24.2 megapixel CMOS sensor and EXPEED 4 image processor. Together they offer high-resolution capture, continuous 5 fps shooting, low-light sensitivity to an expandable ISO 25600, and HD 1080p video recording. Added to this is an improved touchscreen LCD monitor for ease of operation, SnapBridge (Wi-Fi + Bluetooth + NFC), as well as a new time-lapse feature. The sensor design removes the traditional optical low-pass filter for optimum sharpness and resolution, and a 39-point autofocus system provides quick and accurate focusing capabilities. For added illumination use the built-in pop-up flash or connect an optional external flash via the hot shoe for even greater lighting control.
Full HD 1920 x 1080p movie recording is supported in multiple frame rates up to 60 fps, in the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format. During recording, full-time autofocus is available, with face-detection and subject-tracking capabilities, for ensured sharpness with a wide variety of subject types. A built-in stereo microphone can be used to record high-quality sound or, alternatively, a microphone input is integrated into the body design to support the use of an external microphone for enhanced quality and control. In-camera time-lapses are also offered with an auto exposure smoothing feature to make transitions in exposure due to changes in lighting appear less sudden.
For live view monitoring, image playback and menu navigation, a large 3.2" 1,037k-dot touchscreen vari-angle LCD monitor is available and makes it possible to shoot from nearly any angle including selfies. A variety of touchscreen functions allow you to pinch to zoom, navigate menus, choose settings, and choose your focus point. Newly added functions will also allow you to enable and disable auto ISO via the touch Fn button, crop during playback zoom, and a frame advance bar lets you scroll through images in playback mode easily. Alternatively, a bright pentamirror optical viewfinder provides precise eye-level viewing and real-time monitoring.
Also enhancing the viewing and shooting abilities of the D5600, SnapBridge support offers a constant connection of the D5600 to a smart device. With a one-time setup you can use your linked device for automatic transfer of photos and automatic upload to Nikon's photo sharing service, NIKON IMAGE SPACE. With Wi-Fi enabled, it also possible to remotely control the camera from a linked Android or iOS mobile device.
