D3S
12.1 Megapixel Digital SLR
The Nikon D3 was a huge success when it launched in 2007, and in some ways, quite a revolution for the company, offering previously-unheard-of and relatively noise-free high-ISO shooting. This was due in a big way to the debut of Nikon's FX full frame CMOS sensor, which offered exceptional quality.
The D3S picks up on the D3's success with an 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' approach, merely updating it to bring it in line with the rest of the company's more recent products. As a result it looks and feels almost exactly the same as the D3, and even has the same 12-million-pixel resolution.
It is now capable of shooting 720p HD video, and hitting a max of ISO 12,800 - expandable to a whopping ISO 102,400! It has also adopted the silent shutter mode from it's lesser siblings, which reduces shutter noise to a whisper.
