The 550D from Canon, known in some markets as the Rebel T2i, follows in the footsteps of previous models like the 350D, 450D and 500D to walk the line between point-and-shoot compact cameras and high-end professional DSLRs. The idea is to offer the quality and features of a pro system with the user-friendliness of a compact camera, which is why the EOS 550D comes with a Live View display so you can see your adjustments take effect before you take the shot. The display also comes in handy for the 550D's other headline feature - full 1080p HD video. Improvements over the 500D come in the form of a larger, 18.0-megapixel sensor, up from 15.1; 50/60 fps HD video shooting; SDXC storage support; and a max ISO of 6400, which is expandable to 12800.
