Compact and intuitive, the black TL2 from Leica is a mirrorless digital camera designed to offer the latest imaging technology in a streamlined body, crafted from a single block of aluminium assembled and polished by hand in Germany. It revolves around a newly developed 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and Maestro II processor for impressive speed and overall performance, including an electronic shutter function for shooting speeds of up to 20 fps, native sensitivities ranging from ISO 100-50000, and UHD 4K video at 30 fps. It also features a fast 3.7" 1.3m-dot touchscreen interface, and swift autofocusing with a 49-point contrast-detect AF system.
The addition of UHD 4K at 30 fps allows you to capture sharp video for compatibility with existing and future displays. You'll also be able to record Full HD with a max frame rate of 60 fps and HD, which can do slow motion at 120 fps. This is benefitted by focus peaking to make it easier ensure your videos are in focus, and a micro-HDMI port makes it possible to output to an external display or monitor.
The camera uses Leica's mirrorless L-bayonet mount to connect to both full-frame SL-series and APS-C TL-series lenses, which benefit from electronic communication for speedy autofocus, electronic aperture control, and optical image stabilisation. The L mount can also accept a variety of adapters, such as the M-Adapter L which allows the TL2 to be used with the entire range of M-mount lenses. Adapters are also available for the S, R, and Cine series as well.
A MyCamera Menu allows you to easily customise the LCD display to access your most commonly used settings, and an FN button is also available. 32GB of internal memory lets you shoot without an SD card, however a fast UHS-II SD memory card slot is also featured for longer shooting sessions and data can easily be transferred using the USB Type-C port with USB 3.0 support.
The camera also includes integrated Wi-Fi connectivity to connect iOS and Android devices for wirelessly sharing photos and movies. The free Leica TL-App facilitates sharing imagery between the camera and device, and the app also enables a remote function for wirelessly adjusting the camera's shutter speed, aperture, and for releasing the shutter. The app can also be used as a remote electronic viewfinder that makes it easier to compose self-portraits or group shots, or when working from difficult shooting angles.
The Leica TL2 Mirrorless Digital Camera comes with a BP-DC13 Lithium-Ion Battery that offers approximately 250 shots per charge, a BC-DC13 Charger, USB Cable, Carrying Strap and 2 x Carrying Strap Release Pins.
