The 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens from Sigma is a versatile telephoto zoom lens with a 75-150mm equivalent focal length and fast constant maximum aperture, designed for use with Nikon DX-format F-mount DSLRs. The bright f/1.8 maximum aperture ensures consistent low-light performance and control over depth of field, and as part of Sigma's Art line, this lens is designed for truly superb optical performance.

Optically it incorporates three F Low Dispersion elements, one Special Low Dispersion element, and one high-refractive index, high-dispersion glass element, to reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing throughout the zoom range and offer increased clarity and sharpness. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has also been applied to lens elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting. A rounded nine-blade flourine-coated polycarbonate diaphragm with carbon feather film further controls performance for smooth operation at fast shutter speeds.

This is housed inside an elegant body, with internal focus and zoom mechanisms to limit the length of the lens during operation. A Hyper Sonic AF motor ensures focusing is fast and near-silent, while manual focus override simply by rotating the focus ring is possible at any time for full control. A tripod collar is also included in the design for greater stability when working with a tripod or monopod, and integrates 90° click stops for intuitive switching between horizontal and vertical shooting orientations. The bayonet mount is constructed from brass for ensured accuracy and durability.

This lens is also compatible with the optional Sigma USB Dock for fine-tuning different lens characteristics and updating its firmware.
