The Nikon AF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3G VR II DX is a wide-angle to super telephoto zoom lens designed for DX-format cameras. Offering a full-frame equivalent focal length range of 27-450mm, this lens is an ideal single lens solution for a wide variety of photographic situations. It features an advanced optical design that incoporates three aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements to reduce aberrations and distortions throughout the zoom range for greater clarity and sharpness. In addition, a Super Integrated Coating has been applied to the individual elements to suppress flare and ghosting when working in harsher lighting conditions. A VR (Vibration Reduction) image stabilisation aids in minimising appearance of camera shake by up to four stops, benefitting handheld shooting in challenging lighting conditions. The optics is complemented by a Silent Wave Motor, which affords fast and silent autofocus performance with full-time manual focus override. An internal focusing design improves focusing speeds with only the internal lens groups moving during use and the overall lens length maintained. The lens also features a rounded seven-blade diaphragm promotes a pleasing out of focus quality when using shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques.
