This 46mm Slim Circular Polarizer Filter from Heliopan is primarily designed to eliminate polarized light, producing increased colour saturation. This is particularly noticeable when photographing outdoor scenes, where a CPL filter will work to combat atmospheric fog to deepen the blue of the sky, highlight white clouds, and eliminate reflected light bringing detail back in to reflective surfaces such as water or glass. It will not affect picture colour, and supports full use of your camera's autofocus and auto exposure functions. All filters will also offer a degree of protection for the front element of your lens against moisture, dust and scratching.The filter uses Schott glass, to ensure your images are sharp and clear, with true colour and contrast. Both the front and rear surfaces of the filter feature a single anti-reflection coating to help increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. They also help to protect the filter substrate while keeping the glass clean for longer than uncoated versions. The brass mounting ring is built with a slim mount design measuring 5mm-thick, that helps to prevent vignetting when used on wide-angle lenses. To further reduce the change of vignetting it does not feature front threads for mounting additional filters or lens caps.
